From Netflix to Instagram, our lives seem to be characterised by what we see, not by what we read. How can we encourage more people to regularly engage with literature when most novels don’t contain a single image?
Lost Page Club creates a connection between literature and visual culture, allowing readers to immerse themselves in a book’s content creation. By providing creative tools and a re-imagined book format, readers can illustrate their novel whilst simultaneously listening to the audiobook. The app facilitates the sharing of this content between subscribers, enabling social connection in an activity which was once considered solitary. The featured section of the app allows people to connect with prominent craftspeople who will make and share work inspired by their favourite novels. The idea has an important social purpose; these illustrations will be published in new editions making mainstream literature accessible to adults learning to read, meaning Lost Page Club allows everyone to see the story. |
